Disney x Dali: “Destino”

A collaboration between these two titans, which began in 1946, was completed in 1999, some 50 years later, by Disney’s nephew Roy Edward Disney, using the original storyboards as well as notes taken from the journals kept by Dali’s widow.

Disney and Dali’s original work — a mere 18 seconds of test footage — can be seen starting around 5:17.

this is strange and bizarre and extraordinarily breathtaking all at the same time. animation is such a lovely art
